Successful Pre-App for 6-person HMO in North London

Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMO) are types of properties where at least three unrelated people live together and share common facilities that are increasingly popular for young professionals and students.

From a landlord's perspective, HMOs can be a lucrative investment, as they can charge rent to multiple tenants for the same property. In general, HMOs that are well-managed can generate a rental yield of around 5-10% or more. However, HMOs are subject to specific regulations and standards.

We were excited to take on the challenge of helping our Client in North London with permission for a 6-person HMO property.

We spent time developing a design that would meet the National and Local Planning Regulations while also maximizing the use of space. We created a layout that would allow for multiple tenants to live comfortably in the property, while still ensuring privacy and security for each individual.

To our delight, we received overly positive feedback from the Brent Council. We were thrilled to know that all our hard work had paid off and we had created a space that met all the necessary regulations for an HMO.

Looking back, we realized that the key to our success was hard work and dedication. We had put in the time and effort to gather all the necessary information and meet all the Council’s requirements. And in the end, it paid off.
